PRIVACY POLICY AND RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

OUR PRIVACY AND RULES OF ENGAGEMENT BINDING ON ALL MEMBER STUDENTS / TRAINEES 

SUBMISSION OF ADDRESS AND DATA 

Personal address, including data, names, schools attended, qualifications and other useful detailed information as may be required by the management must be submitted on admission without holding back anything that will assist in identifying the student / trainee when the need arise, (fill out the admission form) accordingly and post for online registration and transaction. 

FEES /TUITION

The prescribed fees or tuition must be paid in full before commencement of training.

PROHIBITION 

Student / trainee is prohibited from sharing his or her course materials, video posts and other training devices, CDs-audio/ video; or leak vital /classified information to another person. The penalty for violating this provision may result in expulsion of the offender and forfeiture of admission without any form of compensation. Such individual so expelled will forfeit the right of appeal and monies or fees paid in the course of the training. The company director and its agents are not liable and will not entertain court adjudication on matters bordering on infringement on the company’s right of privacy.

PAYMENT OF FEE /TUITION

The prescribed fee or tuition is payable to the company’s account through electronic transfer or any other means of payment applicable and approved by the company.

PROCEDURES FOR OPTING OUT OF THE TRAINING PROGRAMME 

Student / trainee who wish to opt-out of the company’s training programme will be required to make his intention known by stating clearly his/ her reasons in writing to the management two weeks before relinquishing his / her student / trainee membership. 

All personal data belonging to the affected person are not retrievable and shall therefore be forfeited to the company.

NO REFUND OF FEES /TUITION

Fees /tuition paid by the student /trainee are not refundable; the company will not entertain or enter into any negotiation with the individual concerned on grounds of fees /tuition refund. 

RULES AND REGULATIONS 

Students /trainees are bound to conduct themselves in an orderly manner in the course of training, report their grievances to management and wait for the appropriate action to be taken.

On no account should any student /trainee resort to self-help through the use of brute force to seek for redress. The law, of course, will naturally take its course and the offender prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the subsisting law of Lagos State.

AWARD OF PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE

Certificate of professional competence/attestation and participation will be issued to qualified students/trainees who have passed the prescribed examination at the end of the three months training.

AGREEMENT 

I agree to the terms and conditions of my admission as written in the Privacy Policy and Rules of Engagement of the company. 

I am therefore obliged to obey them by virtue of being a student /trainee of the company’s training programme.

Public relations and communications services. Studio setup and management- Radio, Television and online platforms. Web designing/management- develop and maintain professional online database. Event coverage- political campaigns, outdoor parties and religious activities, facilities/equipment rental services.

Eminem Centre for Media Studies and Communication is a training outfit founded in 2019, to build capacity for media people and to break new grounds in media reporting and production using the latest devices and platforms to create a media culture that is socially responsible and ethical to effectively play the role of watchdog of society.

With our robust training programme which lasts for three months of intensive practical: Do-it-yourself, a step-by-step guide from start to finish, and under the supervision of veterans in the industry, participants or trainees are expected to gain the necessary skill to stand on their own, become their own boss or choose to work with any media house of preference at the end of the training. This is applicable to new entrants only, preferably, mature applicants with a Bachelor’s degree, HND, Master’s, PhD in any field other than journalism or mass communication. 

The training is facilitated by veterans drawn from the electronic, print and the new media led by head of the team and chief training consultant, Mr. Michael Echi who has transverse the print and electronic media with well over 35 years’ cognate experience. 

To acquire the needed skills, participants are guided through the theoretical part and hands-on the training. That is, the trainees must combine the class room work with industrial training or internship in an established radio/television station or newspaper organization. Certificate of participation or attendance will then be issued to successful candidates at the end of the training.
